About the Journal
FemCrítica. Journal of Literary Studies and Feminist Criticism (ISSN: 2990-3297 ) is an academic, open-access publication issued in digital format, published twice a year with no article processing charges. It was founded in 2023 by Professor Fernando Candón Ríos, who serves as Editor-in-Chief, together with Professors Leticia de la Paz de Dios and Nuria Torres López. The editorial team is completed by Professor Rafael Crismán Pérez as Associate Editor.
FemCrítica specializes in literary studies from feminist, critical, and gender-based perspectives. One of its core focuses is the study of literary theory and contemporary literary criticism, particularly in relation to feminist epistemologies, dissident poetics, and transformative cultural practices. Published independently, the journal brings together researchers committed to interrogating patriarchal structures and promoting intersectional thinking and social change through critical theory.
The journal has a dual objective: to foster research in literature through feminist and inclusive approaches, and to serve as a platform for academic exchange among scholars from the Spanish-speaking world and other regions interested in gender studies, cultural criticism, and literary theory.
Within these frameworks, FemCrítica publishes articles, reviews, and interviews that explore both the literary canon and peripheral writings, with special attention to silenced women authors, dissident aesthetics, and the interrelations between literature, the body, and politics. The journal advocates for interdisciplinary approaches and innovative critical methodologies, distancing itself from traditional philological models and building bridges with cultural studies, feminist philosophy, and contemporary activist movements.

En el panorama literario contemporáneo, la representación de la diversidad sexual y de género ha adquirido una importancia creciente. Sin embargo, a pesar de los avances, persisten desafíos en cuanto a la (in)visibilidad y la representación precisa de las experiencias queer en la literatura. Este monográfico busca explorar y analizar cómo se representan las realidades queer en la literatura contemporánea, así como los desafíos que enfrenta esta representación en términos de visibilidad, estereotipos y narrativas dominantes.
