NEW TRANSMIGRANT QUEER SUBJETCTS IN THE BIUTY QUEENS, BY IVÁN MONALISA OJEDA
Keywords:

This article analyses the work of Chilean author Iván Monalisa Ojeda, entitled Las biuty queens, published in 2019. It consists of thirteen stories starring characters whose identity fights heteronormativity; they are queer subjects who do not define themselves by their sex, mostly trans. These identities are situated on the margins of the patriarchal and cishetero society that criminalises them and condemns them to live under violence, marginality and prostitution. It delves into three stories: En el bote, La Rayito and Biuty Queen with the aim of giving visibility to the reality of these subjects, analysing their way of life, the conflict between masculinity and femininity, the situation of the trans collective and the narrative style of Monalisa Ojeda. The aim is to give a positive approach to the situation of these new transmigrant subjects, moving away from the fatalistic vision, giving them visibility and favouring their full recognition by heteronormative society.
